THANK YOU FOR SUBSCRIBING
CMS Desk, a specialised platform designed for the construction industry, was not conceived in corporate boardrooms or high-tech labs. Instead, it was developed on construction sites by a team of developers, construction managers, and engineers with firsthand experience of the industry’s challenges and inefficiencies. What began as an internal tool has evolved into a comprehensive platform that streamlines operations reduces costs and enhances project efficiency. The story of CMS Desk began with Piotr Szczypkowski, an experienced electrical and mechanical contractor, and his project manager, Danny Mc Cready. As Szczypkowski’s business expanded, so did the complexity of managing procurement and project execution. In response, he tasked Mc Cready with establishing a procurement department to bring structure and efficiency to these processes. Mc Cready initially relied on interconnected spreadsheets, but their limitations quickly became apparent. The lack of transparency, inefficiency and extensive manual effort impeded operational progress. Exploring commercially available software solutions proved unviable, as many were prohibitively expensive, overly complex or burdened with rigid subscription models that did not align with the company’s requirements. “We needed a practical solution, purpose-built by industry professionals who understood the day-to-day challenges we were facing,” explains Mc Cready. Drawing on his web development knowledge, he took a hands-on approach to designing a system himself that directly addressed the needs of the construction sector. The result was EMS—a simple but effective management system that streamlined processes and eliminated bottlenecks as well as improved operational efficiency. EMS demonstrated how digital tools could address longstanding inefficiencies in construction, providing greater visibility and control over key processes. Recognising its transformative potential, Szczypkowski provided financial backing for Mc Cready to further develop and refine the system. With the support of professional developers, Mc Cready evolved EMS into CMS Desk—a fully integrated platform tailored to the construction industry’s unique demands.
Opportunities in construction don’t wait. Projects emerge, bids open and decisions follow—often in rapid succession. Here, the strategy isn’t about speed; it’s about intelligence— knowing which projects align with your expertise, which bids to pursue, how to price competitively and when to act. With ConstructConnect’s data-driven insights, businesses don’t just navigate the bidding process— they win. Its project intelligence and bid management platform shifts the preconstruction process from reactive to a more strategic proactive move, giving subcontractors and general contractors the information to start every project on a solid foundation. At the heart of this proactive approach is a robust project intelligence engine that delivers complete and verified project details, empowering clients with the clarity to make informed bidding decisions. With over 60,000 sources gathering and verifying 600,000+ new project leads and updates, clients gain a commanding view of the market and identify patterns such as which types of projects are increasing in demand, which general contractors are actively seeking bids and where new developments are taking place. Advanced search and filtering tools enable users to personalize project recommendations based on critical factors like project type, location and business needs. A client testimonial reinforces the impact. “ConstructConnect gives us a peek into opportunities in the markets we serve. Points of connection are identified, along with contact information, to help cut down on research time. It can also be shared with colleagues with whom we work to help them build their opportunities as well.” Not just project discovery, the platform offers in-depth details, including plans, specifications, addenda and key contacts, giving users the transparency needed to make informed bidding decisions. Access to a vast network of general contractors, architects, and project owners increases visibility so users can get more bid invitations. This intelligent matchmaking ensures every bid pursued is a strategic move rather than a shot in the dark.

Tapping Into Tech-Driven Project Management
The construction industry continues to demonstrate remarkable resilience and adaptability by embracing advanced technologies and prioritizing sustainable growth. This fuels ambitious innovations, positioning the industry at the forefront of modernization. According to market research, the global construction industry is poised to reach $15.5 trillion by 2030, expanding at a CAGR of 85 percent. This growth is driven by a gamut of tech trends in project management. Modern project management platforms support advanced features like AI-driven analytics for resource planning, real-time data integration from IoT devices and collaboration tools to keep construction professionals informed. Integration with other construction technologies, such as BIM, ensures seamless scheduling, tracking and communication, reducing delays in construction projects. It offers detailed 3D models that encompass all aspects of a building’s design, facilitating better visualization, coordination and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. Leveraging historical data, predictive analytics enables construction managers to forecast trends, assess risks and make informed decisions. This leads to improved scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation. Automating tasks such as scheduling, risk assessment and quality control, AI integration streamlines operations and improves efficiency across various construction projects. This edition of Construction Tech Review Europe brings recent developments in the construction project management system arena and insights into how organizations can adapt to these disruptive trends to deliver transformative customer experiences. It features thought leadership articles from industry experts, including Marcin Dudrak, construction manager at Gülermak Heavy Industries Construction & Contracting, who discusses the evolution and future of prefabricated construction.
