The Sydney shopping centre is currently undergoing redevelopment, and the client needed a fully-parametric Revit BIM model for architects, engineers and facility managers to accurately plan the work required. Project Surveyors faced one of the most complex jobs in its 43- year history. With attending HxGN LIVE 2014; project surveyors found new ideas in the innovative use of High-Definition Surveying (HDS) in BIM; the firm realized an approximate time savings of 75 per cent. The technology of HDS provides the tools and workflows needed to accurately and definitively capture digital assets in minutes. Through the use of a variety of HDS techniques in the field and the office, Project Surveyors was able to organize building information across an accessible platform. They also took first place in the Buildings/Heritage category in HDS plan contest of HxGN LIVE 2015.
