Looking at the current construction market, Benjamin Buchanan, CEO of SBT Alliance, says, “A majority of the smart solutions deployed in today’s buildings are often isolated, with different players involved in deploying various parts of the system. This dynamic impacts the outcome of projects and the end-user experience.” End-users are dissatisfied with the way systems are set up and function, and when they try to seek help, there is a lack of dedicated support. That leaves a sour taste in customers’ mouths. To address this issue, “We decided to close this market gap by bringing together the siloed entities under one roof to provide a turnkey solution that empowers our industry partners. It is our goal to deliver a system that end-users want – a smart building solution with no hassles, increased value delivery, and ongoing technical support,” asserts Buchanan.

SBT Alliance has narrowed down the traditional market process into two simple product offerings: a Factory-Based Solution and an End-to-End Solution.

The flexible Factory-Based Solution gives clients the freedom to mix and match various products and services from one or more SBT Alliance division, while the End-to-End Solution offers a unique blend of products and services from each SBT Alliance division. It all starts with LED luminaries from Direct Discount Lighting (DDL). From there, Integrated Advanced Controls (IAC) fixture-embeds the industry’s leading IoT control system components from an ecosystem of IoT partners – including Enlighted Controls, Daintree Controls from Current, Avi-on Labs, Silvair, and Signify. Lastly, Glued Solutions (GSI) conducts all final system setup and provides comprehensive, long-term system service and technical support.

SBT Alliance has pioneered an innovative approach for implementing these smart control technologies by pooling the strengths of their three internal divisions. By doing so, they can more easily construct an intelligent solution that’s streamlined, easy to understand, and fully supported long-term. SBT Alliance goes a step further to assist clients with existing systems too. Helping to maximize a clients’ previous investment by performing comprehensive system audits and retro-commissioning services to ensure they’re getting the most bang for their investment dollar.

For example, SBT Alliance worked with a large municipality in Santa Ana, CA to “bring their archaic system back to life by retro-commissioning their existing system and incorporating leading-edge LED technology, automated shades, and occupancy sensors, all within a two-month time-frame,” Buchanan states. More importantly, there was no point of contact for the client previously, but now they have a direct line to SBT Alliance for any queries, issues, or if they need training for any purpose.

Going beyond lumens and LED lighting, SBT Alliance is also committed to developing new and innovative ways for clients to reap more benefits from their lighting infrastructures.
