Headquartered in Vienna, Austria, Think bau tech (TBT) was founded as a result of the expansion of a Development Company from Eastern Europe. At the time of entering the Western European market, the founders and the TBT management team already had more than 1 million m2 of completed projects, besides infrastructure and specialized projects. The main objective of entering foreign markets was to gain experience in implementing projects in a different social and engineering culture, with the subsequent transfer of resources, technologies and acquired knowledge between these different markets (some kind of “bridge”).

To address this, TBT today actively uses the methodology of structural-ontological analysis and the methodology of project management as a tool. The company also leverages a resource matrix, in which it identifies five main types of resources: labor, material and technical, monetary, communication, and entrepreneurial. Operating as a general contractor for construction, TBT offers its clients the most flexible contract terms, accepts management risks and obligations to constantly adapt the current version of the description and content of the project to the conditions of a changing market.

“To do this, we use a hybrid project management model, when simultaneously at different stages and phases of a project, its parts can be implemented using standard waterfall models and Agile approach,” says Rosen Nickov, the CEO of TBT.

Clients can count on TBT as a partner who provides a flexible approach and is ready to implement the changes to the original assignment during the execution phase of the project. “We continuously study, develop and implement management methodologies in order to qualitatively respond to constantly changing market conditions, which in the modern world, occur in an extremely short historical period - from three to five years,” states Tymur Tsaturov, the CTO of TBT. The company delivers the required result within the specified time frame and budget, even if this required result is radically different from the first version of the assignment, on the basis of which it entered the contract.

What separates TBT from other players is its multicultural team, constant investment in human capital, and a willingness to adapt to rapid changes in the industry environment. Further, the company ensures systematic consideration of the projects and activities it is engaged in. “We also focus on the result of each project as a unique one. These are the main factors that distinguish TBT on the landscape of the industry,” mentions Vitalii Bezlutskyi, the CPO of TBT.

At the same time, TBT offers complex solutions when responsibility is concentrated in one subject of management—even if some parts of the project are carried out by customers themselves or by third-party contractors. With vast experience in solving non-routine construction and managerial tasks, TBT prides itself on the fact that there are no unrealized projects in its portfolio and that all of them have been completed meeting the specific requirements of its partners. At the same time, the geography of projects today already includes experience in seven different jurisdictions, including the Caribbean and Central Asia.
