where he oversees the strategic development and operational resilience of technology systems across Latin America and the United States.

Jose Luis Ortega Nataren is a tenured IT leader with over two decades of experience in systems engineering and digital infrastructure. His work primarily focuses on optimizing digital ecosystems, enhancing cyber security protocols and aligning infrastructure with business innovation goals. He ensures robust compliance with industry standard frameworks like NIST, COBIT and ITIL.

His academic background in systems engineering complements his leadership role by reinforcing both technical rigor and strategic foresight needed to drive infrastructure innovation and compliance. The educational blend of computer science, engineering principles and operational strategy enables Nataren to bring a pragmatic yet forward-thinking approach to digital transformation.

Beginning as a technical support manager at Mainbit, Nataren’s trajectory projected rapidly into computer science. As department head at Procuraduria General de la República, he led technical support operations and coordinated teams for a national conference, demonstrating impactful leadership by navigating complexity, mentoring talent and championing organizational growth.

As operations system lead at Volaris, he worked at the intersection of technical infrastructure, business operations and strategic systems leadership, with a strong focus on reservation systems and data warehouse development.

Progressing steadily, his tenure at Banco strengthened his work with data warehouse development and IT-based business operations. He led strategic IT operations and innovation initiatives across core banking systems, electronic banking platforms and business intelligence infrastructure. He also spearheaded continuous improvement efforts by identifying business needs, evaluating emerging technologies and optimizing existing applications to enhance operational efficiency and resilience.

At Tellez-Rivas Inc., his role as director of IT encompassed designing strategies driving business growth, managing vendor relations and managing budget allocation across BA, developer and QA teams. Developing tech services crucial for business resilience, Nataren was involved in providing business continuity plans, disaster recovery plans, cloud platforms and digitalization.

Nataren’s journey at Grupo Rotoplas began as an information technology infrastructure manager. He led multiple teams like technology, infrastructure, solutions, data and cyber security. With his expertise, he architected and directed enterprise technology services to support human resources, sales, marketing, legal and corporate functions. Leading design cloud implementation, he integrated robust backend configurations with strategic standards. Managing internal teams and contractors within a project operating with the budget of MEX$ 116 million, he supervised four IT managers, four IT leads and three system administrators. Upholding immediate and longrange business objectives, Nataren led the strategic planning and execution of actionable operations of enterprise systems to achieve optimal results.

Continuing to drive growth at Grupo Rotoplas, Nataren is currently head of infrastructure. He leads the design and execution of technology initiatives that align with customer needs and organizational strategy. Overseeing all IT infrastructure operations, he ensures all processes are implemented in compliance with industry and data security standards. Driving continuous expansion and relationships, his role involves cultivating strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external vendors, guiding collaborative planning efforts like build-versus-buy decisions and steering cross-functional projects from conception to evaluation. He also manages departmental talent, budgets and performance reporting while proactively identifying vulnerabilities, recommending upgrades and implementing scalable solutions that enhance operational resilience and business agility.

Jose Luis Ortega Nataren is an exceptional leader and has consistently demonstrated a rare blend of strategic foresight, technical rigor and operational agility. His ability to translate complex IT infrastructure needs into scalable, compliant and business-aligned solutions reflects not just deep domain expertise, but a commitment to enabling growth through technology. Whether navigating enterprise-wide planning, optimizing vendor relationships or mentoring teams, he brings a steady hand and a visionary mindset. This makes him not just a steward of systems, but a catalyst for transformation.
